Would you take us to where the angels meet?
With white lights and golden streets?

Where the rest of our loved ones are waiting,
Our faces animated and elating.

Will you meet us where dreams come true?
Where grandfather is waiting, hot chocolate a-brew?

To where we can share past regrets,
So we can say goodbyes finally, and remember the rest.

When I get there, will you be at the gates?
Holding your hand and smiling, like we’re still old mates.

Will everything be like it once was, but tinged with something pure?
Something natural and untouched, that we never knew before?

Would you take us to where the angels meet?
With white lights and golden streets?

I wrote this piece after a loss of family, but it was for an assignment. It has then escalated to something more for me.
