Cranes of a special occasion
They are made of shining paper although they do not move
they still mean something important to me
My birthday present
When I look at them they remind me of that day
Smiling
Laughter
Running
I now look back at those cranes depressed
I repaid her by leaving and becoming friends with another
Thoughts swirl
I hold back the tears
and instead heave a sigh
"Sorry" I whisper quietly
I think of leaving the other friend I have now but
my kindness won't allow it
I'm sorry began to form on my lips again but I'm unable to make those words real
Tears run down
Thoughts overflow the barrier I've built
I try to think through this depressed white fog
but it's too much now
As I write this I once again consider the question of leaving, it's on my mind but I think
Why say sorry if I don't leave?
I guess it's over...
Goodbye
