No Pressure
The crowd silences
As the whistle is blown.
All eyes are focused on
One spot,
One ball,
One player.
She looks at the ball,
Then at the immense crowd
Surrounding the court.
She has done this a million times.
The action, engraved in her muscle memory,
should be as simple as breathing
But in this moment,
she feels she cannot.
Just relax,
She thinks to herself
and tosses up the ball.
So much tension lies
In the brief second that
Seems to stretch for miles...
