Taken Over
She’s not alone
Demons fill her head
All of them whispering
You’re better off dead
She tries to run
But they’re stuck in her mind
She get’s ahead
Only to fall behind
Nobody likes you
And they never will
Their voices taunt her
She manages to hold still
She tells herself
Its okay, they’re not real
But the voices don’t leave her
And they never will
The unrelenting words
And the undermining pain
They finally convince her
There’s nothing to gain
Despite her own knowledge
They have taken her mind
They’ve hid it in lies
For no one to find
So she finds herself standing
On the edge of the bridge
She tries to stop
But peers over the ridge
She tries to move back
But takes a step forward still
All that she’s doing
Is against her own will
As she leans over the edge
She’s reminded of sins
She plunges towards death
Because the mind always wins
