Never Alone
The smile on my face,
used to fool so many people,
there was a war raging on inside,
a war i didn't even understand.
so many times i wanted to let go,
to force the pain on someone else,
so they'd see the pain in my eyes,
to know what i was going through.
i learned to pretend everything was fine,
but inside a war was raging,
i tried to explain it to people,
they just didn't want to understand.
i thought it was me alone,
going through it with no one by my side,
yet was blinded by the war,
God was the one bringing me through it.
now the war continues but,
i can now push it aside and focus,
focus on God alone,
and see who was there all along.
