In Between
In the midst of despair,
I let down my hair,
and sing to the dead in the night.
With a smile on my lips,
my hands on my hips,
I live with the dead in the night.
Silence shrieks as my song fades,
all loved ones miles away,
praying for the living in the night.
The sunlight appears,
bringing laughter and cheers,
to the living in the brightness of the light.
But once the sun fades,
and the living sleep away,
I sing to the dead in the night.
