A spinning top
A spinning top I am,
Tough from wood,
Colorful with paint
That was splashed on me with care.
A spinning top I am,
My life is spinning—rapidly,
At this point, so weak yet so strong,
I will stand for as long as I spin.
A spinning top I am,
And you know it.
Don’t stop me for I will fall,
For everything in my life will be crushed.
A spinning top I am,
I look at the world so round,
Spin with me my friend—and
You’ll see what I’m seeing.
Don’t slow me down—but
Speed yourself up.
I won’t stop—not until that day when no longer
A spinning top I am.
