Brothers In Fire and the Soft Mellow Rain

When you are down and my fire is out you were down too,
You came and relit my fire to a burning flame of love and respect,
You always got me back on my feet when life knocked me down,
When I cried, you were there asking who to beat,
You are my brother,
My brother who has a heart like fire,
Even though fire is strong and mighty it can be extinguished,
You never like to show your emotions but I can see through you like a glassed window frame,
Your heart is like the soft mellow sounds of rain,
But you have the will and might like thunder and lightning,
Far to the Southwest our homes wave their goodbyes,
Goodbyes that be warming and soothing as we finish our learning,
For you have made me strong and a man with words of wisdom,
I love you brother you keep my fire going in the rain.

The author's comments:
I was inspired by my brother who is in the same grade as i am but he is not really my brother through blood. I have known him since pre- school and this is just to honr him for that. My poem was also inspired by wildfires here in our state at the time and how it always seems to rain after.
