I Am Always Me
No matter what, I am always me.
They changed my hair and I was still me
They changed my clothes and I was still me
They changed my interests, but I was still me
They tried to change my thoughts
The way I acted and the things I did
I tried and for a second I was like them
a me that I didn’t like
Then, I decided I liked me better the way I was.
So I tried the old way; how I was before
And I was the me that you could never be.

Hah, I wish we could all do this. You should seriously teach that lesson to all the 8th and 9th graders. It's hard not to change who we are because of what somebody wants us to be. Very pretty, it has a nice ring to it. The words fit together, if that makes any sense. :)
