My Shield
He looked at me
He saw a daughter that finally accepted him into her life.
She knew the journey had begun praying every night for her to be strengthen through him.
Not gossiping, not cussing, and listening to holy music set her apart from her peers.
She realized that her old self had been crucified with him.
No longer had she lived, but He lived in her.
He looked at me
Saw a daughter who felt distracted by the things of this world
Smelled the fear of falling into temptation
Tasted the guilt of not using discernment
Saw the fear of failure in her eyes
Heard voices contradicting what she believed
But, she realized his grace and mercies are new everyday
He looked at me
Saw a daughter who realized she has a destiny
Is made for a purpose
Is going to shape history
And it’s all for him who died for her on the cross
She now has eternal life because she believes.
