Carpe Diem!

The endless blue sky
Escaped from my mortal
eyes
The beat of my heart
Slowing down to a complete
Stop
The black of my eyes
escaping the light
My love slowly fading away
From sight
My eyes will never see
His face again

The author's comments:
this is more of a true story based upon women in the 40's when the men they loved went off to war and sometimes, they never came back
