The Seasons of Life
I stand waist deep in thought
Pictures forming a film in my mind
I leave them there to rot
And begin to form my rhymes
Colorless, my heart has become
Quenching for a burst of color
I am left on my own to create some
Blending eternal shades of summer
Slowly progressing into autumn
I shed my color-filled tears
And then alabaster winter comes
I am empty, with no fears
Abruptly, it all melts away
Soothing away my inner pain
I spring into a new day
Give me the sun, keep the rain
My inner cycle changes with me
And I expect it to anyway
I know deep down I am free
And that everything’s gonna be okay.
