Dear Iris

Dear Iris
I don’t think of you as my mother anymore
I’ve had too many ‘moms’ to care
About the lady who ran out of my life five years ago.
Maybe if you’d waited,
If you’d said goodbye,
I would have tried.

I don’t think of you much anymore,
I know you by the picture that I’ve had forever,
But that was the old you,
The one I knew.
The one I could trust.
Maybe I still would if you hadn’t left us then.

I don’t love you anymore
My heart is broken Iris,
You broke it.
You broke it, and there is no room for love anymore.
I wish with all my might that you would love me.
Maybe then I would try again.

If you were to come back,
The first thing I’d do would be to slap you across the face,
So you’d be sorry
That you left your ten year old son and his baby sister
To grow up alone.

You’d regret your decision to run out of our lives
Five years ago.

Then I’d hug you,
But I wouldn’t forget.
The memories would always be there,
And you can’t wipe them away
With all your false kindness trying to make up for what you did that day
Five years ago.

That's good! I can relate to this, not because of my own experience, but because of someone at my school. Can be a pretty sad experience!!!!
Do you think it would be okay for you to look at something I wrote? That would be awesome!!! Chose anything, (and tell me what you think!!!!)
