love is only a word until someone comes along to give it a meaning

In a great vast land
All filled with smiles
With a beating ocean
Going on for miles
Lives a handsome prince
So full of lies
And a woman quite near
Who puts on a disguise
Her eyes are primrose red
Her heart is beautifully broken
Her soul is dreadfully dwindling
As she holds her time worthy token
Tonight the clock timidly ticks
As the sharp edge turns to ice
A death stare shall hold him still
As the knife takes the price
The bells tell twelve
As the knife lies on the ground
The caring land silences
And the dripping red makes no sound
For what you thought
Did not occur
For the prince turned quickly
To stare at her
Her eyes are hollow
Dressed in tattooed red
A thorny rose in her hand
And a note to how this led
The angels stare down
With diamonds upon their cheeks
Falling on the only man who could make her weak
The pressure compels
And he falls to his knees
His eyes are bulging
Not believing what he sees
He didn’t think it would hurt that much
He didn’t think she cared
He did think she would move on
From the hurtful words he blared
But a woman once loved
Must soon be none
For once the candle burns out
There is only one
