Banksy's Revolt
Disgusted
I paint
Elegant black lines
Across my cancer plagued canvas
Over grotesque faces
Depicting people without eyes,
Black ties and plastic smiles.
Pristine flesh glows,
Green as Gatsby’s obsession.
A Universal religion
Full of paper thin convictions.
Beneath
Cans sprawled
As aluminum soldiers,
Fallen,
They lived and died
In protest of a capitalistic crime.
A sirens song
Glides through bittersweet air
Soft as a lullaby
Calling,
Searching for me
From a distance,
The sound entrances me
Causing my heart to race
Faster, faster.
Moving my feet
With its triumphant rhythm
