Misconceptions of Faith
I held you as you cried,
Wept, sobbed
Audibly
Cursing the cruel fates
That took the love and ripped it
From your grasp.
You blamed supernatural forces
For teasing you and planting the seed
Of love so deep within
That when it failed to bloom
It grew hatred instead.
You lost faith then.
You whispered, “There is no God.”
I blamed myself
For not giving you
What you needed,
And never having the words
To heal you.
All you wanted was that baby.
