In through the nose out through the mouth.
It’s the final chance.
to leave a milestone,
to carve your mark on history.
Screwing up?
It can’t happen.
It won’t happen.
Too many with hope and expectation
glaring down.
Breathe.
Take it all in your hands.
Stare at the ball.
Feel its smooth leather surface.
Bounce.
The silence given to you
is too much to bear.
Ear piercing blow
breaks the nerves.
Bounce.
The ball floats over and in.
The easiest piece of the game is over.
