Like a Rose

Like a rose
simply torn;
glass that doesn't break,
like the one little duckling that
gets lost from it's family
where he belongs...
but doesn't find his way
back home.
Your eyes freeze everything
that looks directly into them
because of how cold they are.
Your spoken words
puncture the heart
when heard because of how
deep they pierce into.
But your body so
warm,
gently soothes;
unfreezes with
a simple touch.
Your voice so beautiful,
heals a wounded heart
with
just a single word.
