What is the meaning of safe anymore?

Constantly going through life,

Not even knowing how to approach the neighbor from across the street.

This is a hallowed world we live in,

Demons in six foot forms,

Children who fear to walk out into their own backyards.

The sense of security from this once great nation has now disappeared,
Retreating to the heavens,
The only place it has been kept sacred since the beginning of time.

Tell me,
Why is our world so different from up above,
When God was the one who created it in his image?

When the world has answered this,
Maybe then the corruption will end,
And He will come once again to restore our mother to her original design.

The author's comments:
I had a conversation in the car with my mom about how we celebrate Halloween every year and go to haunted houses to experience the thrill of being scared and seeing horrible things that happen in real life to people all the time, so I decided to sit down late one night and write about it.
