Falling Slowly
Strong I try to be
But strong I do not feel
I hear many voices
They say fake it till it’s real
My gloves are up
I’m out of my corner
I hear the bell ring
The first punch is thrown
These voices keep talking
They say not to stop fighting
I let the blood keep running
I think I’m losing
I’m almost to my knees
I grab the ropes and pull up
I want to be done
Voices scream how many rounds are left
They don’t get it, the temptation is too strong
The torture has been going on so long
One more punch and I’ll be down
The voices start to fade
I’m so close to the ground
All I need is help they say
All I get is rejection
Cast aside is what I feel
Making it impossible to heal
My bottle empty
My blood run dry
I fall slowly, back in my corner
No one can pick me up now
If only someone knew
How to save a life
