Watch the bloody sun set
and the waves catch on fire
watch my empty eyes go out
like deadly sapphires
Your face smiles
we’re both liars
to say there’s anything but ashes
we’ve drunk each other dry of all that could’ve lasted
oh but
shouldn’t I miss you?
I wish to.
But i don’t.
I’ll be a meadowlark in a burning house
not a soul goes in mourning while
I sing the warning
and you light the spark
We’re all monsters after dark.
