Recovering From An Eating Disorder
recovery:
“the act of gaining or saving something lost.”
a slow process, a long journey,
backwards and forwards, backwards and forwards;
relapse and
come back again.
a steep climb full of
struggles and trials and tests and tears and
triumph.
no way around the mountain but
up;
no quick fix, no cure, no magic.
knowing that if i
always do what i always do,
i’ll always get what i
always got.
but i want…
happiness, health, love, friendship,
hope, faith, support,
living my life completely and fully,
loving, growing, opening up,
welcoming change,
becoming free,
learning to fly,
killing all my hurt and pain and
all my fears,
allowing for peace, and
awakening to live.
recovery.
