nicotine
i didn’t think a kiss was such a big deal.
it’s just skin against skin. no different from holding hands
or hugging
or touching.
so why is it that when two people’s lips press
against eachother
it changes everything?
even if you don’t
intend to, it makes you crave that person
like cigarettes.
it never means nothing.
it makes you addicted to them.
it makes you want to just be near them all the time
laying in their lap
cuddling
holding their hand
inhaling their scent.
the kiss itself relieves tension
but in the long run
makes everything
worse.
and you realize when it’s too late
that they’ve become your nicotine
and their kisses have you
hooked.
