Loneliness

My heart flows alone
Across the endless sea
Beating blood into the water
Draws the sharks ever closer

Clod waves wash over
Stinging my open heart
The salt soaks into my hope
Making my purity infected

I reach above the sky
But hungry gulls swirl
Biting my innocent hand
Forcing callous to surface

A mermaid passes me by
With a smile she steals my will
I follow her to the blue abyss
Crushing my fragile heart to pieces

The pieces of my broken heart
Flow in the harsh current
Portraying a rose red rainbow
In the cold blue sea

Still I follow her to my death
Hoping she will bring me to shore
Letting my heart be healed
And have the chance to float again.
