Those freckled shoulders that burn so easily,
Her silly habits that she does too often,
The way she bookmarks her pages in a novel,
And the way she has to fake emotion at times.

How having her room spotless makes her feel constricted,
The way she can grow tired of music,
How she rolls little strips of paper around pencils to make curls,
And the way she can play with people’s minds
as if they were Barbie dolls.

How she loves packing for vacation but
Won’t unpack for days after she returns home,
The way she forgets what she went downstairs for,
How she isn’t ticklish,
And how sometimes she mumbles and stutters
Simply because the thoughts
are spilling out too quickly.
