The Road of Old
Fireflies drink in the night
So they can put out light
Summer heat
fourth of July fireworks
friends or hotdogs
pools or barbecues
Memories
of life long by
Why oh why
do I always
wonder down this road
It has the same
trees and sun
Always green
With the sun hot and bright
Nostalgia or whatever
I don’t care
This road is long
And dull as anything
A flash there
And thunder somewhere else
But all in all
It’s just the same
One day I’ll
See something different
I’ll travel
The other road
But for now
I’m stuck
In this rut of monotony
