Writing A Song
Songwriting is harder than it looks
The tune, the beat, the words, I'm lost
Every song should be different, like people
But then why do they all turn out the same?
Making everything constantly rhyme
Is not that simple
Many write for days, weeks, years
Strumming a guitar for hours until they find the perfect note
And people still have the guts to criticize
Those who spend their lives
Those who try
Those writers who may not be the best
But still write all the same
“Write about what you know” they say
What do I know?
At this point, nothing
Tomorrow something
The next day, nothing again
It’s a wretched cycle
And writing about it
Helps it make sense
But the problem is
Sometimes, the page ends
