I know you have wings,
But don't fly away.
I need you here with me
To help with the pain.

I can't have you carry me
For your dreams go too far,
And I would miss my wing - less friends
who couldn't ever follow.

Just keep my frozen memory
In your heart of gold.
And maybe one day,
I'll patch up my wings and fly. . .

This is about someone I know I can't be with, but I want them to at least remember me.

Excellent work again!  You truly do well writing free verse poems, especially about unrequited love.  Keep writing! :)
