Laundry Day
Dashing downstairs to the laundry laboratory
I stumble on the fifteenth stair.
Gliding across the floor in socks,
As if the floor were my skating rink
I encounter the narrow pathway, only accessible
When I skillfully glide my feet sideways.
Abandoning my container for the moment
I prepare the necessary ingredients for success and
I apply the ingredients like a formula to the washer
With something missing, swiftly I add the dirty clothing.
Feeling victorious, I set the clock to 30:00
But I will be back,
Soon to repeat the relentless process, load after load.
What can a person do with only thirty minutes?
