The lonely platter.

I,
The lonely edible creation,
Sitting in isolation,
Waiting,
To be eaten

Take a shower of spices,
Burning,
Stealing an identity,
Waiting slowly to readily,
Get ingested

By you monsters,
You cruel mammals,
You act pompous,
As if you deserve to

You don’t.

You look at me in lust,
Starving with admiration toward my flesh,
You keep your heart in a jar,
A desolate glacier,
Compacted ice in your veins.

You call it hunger,
I call it hostility,
Cruelty,
Desire to fill yourself.

Then a distraction strikes the beast’s face,
Another torture is occurring,
Curiosity is stalking you,
Waiting to strike as if it is a hungry lion and you are a weak hyena,
Laughing no more.

You know what they say,
Curiosity killed the cat,
And today is no exception,
For you only have 1 of 9 of your lives left…and the last will merely be a waste.
