East of the Equator
Is a place that doesn't exist.
Una fonda invisible
that we enter in a held breath.
Release it into the open air
and it will run from your lips:
Paralyzed in the clouds that carry a thought.
This moment.
A tranquility that binds me,
and a distance that brings you back
through the open doors to Ecuador.
It hasn't been a secret since we first could fly,
and slip like the moon
out of sight.
Into an invisible background.
