Dear Alcohol
Dear Alcohol,

I know we were too young to meet
and I know we should have been more discrete
but you made me make mistakes.

I kept my distance after a while
to avoid bringing up my stomach bile
but you didn’t take the hint.

At holidays you came to see
if maybe you could play with me
but I couldn’t fall for your tricks.

I used to love how you made me feel
how you took me away from what was real
but you always went too far.

And then I fell back into your arms
thinking that you wouldn’t cause more harm
but of course you caused a lot.

You made us fight and made him mad
you made me cry and turned him bad
 but you showed no mercy.

This will be the last time we talk
and never again will we take a walk
but there’s something I want you to know.
