Life on a Hill
The craters of time
have eroded your surface.
Every fault and fracture -
Profound.
Your perfect face is weathered,
almost broken.
Dull is your complexion,
but brilliance flows through
your every vein, rapid.
Fragile by nature’s default,
yet your body holds strong,
unaffected by all the pressure.
In the eyes of a stranger,
you’re nothing more
then faded and present.
Merely acknowledged by
the daily voyager.
But, in the eyes of those
who truly know you,
You are You.
And your flaws are
Immaculate.
