Promise Me...

The numbness my body gets

When the image of you floats into my thoughts

You take me to a place I’m terrify to go

Never thought I could have this

Delightful sensation

Promise me

Like every breath you take

Not with your pinky

You will never stop Arranging your words

To make something so complicated

Uncomplicated

Promise me

You could never go on your journey in life

Without having an infatuation for my smile

I need your desire for my trust

To go beyond the rhythm of your body

To the depth of your soul

My finger discover every scare

On your arm while

My brain longs for the hurt in your eyes

To remain there when you explain to me

Where life took your mind

And the world took your body

Place your hand a pond my wrist

And feel my pulse arise

When you touch me so simply

Because with every hug and kiss

You snatch every bit of strength

It takes to hold up the foundation

To my bottomless thoughts

You captured my mind With the truth

No matter how difficult

You confessed every sin and

You challenged me to forgive and accept you

For the words you spoke

And the actions you committed

So when I ask you to catch my heart

Promise me not with a ring

But with your trust

You won’t let it hit the ground
