One Last Chance
I really wish I could just forget about you.
But its not that simple.
Memories that will never be forgotten.
The pieces will always remain in my heart.
What happened between us?
One day it was over.
Our friendship seized to exist to you.
Do you ever think about me?
I know I think about you more than I should.
I just wish I could forget about you.
But I’ve known you for far too long.
Since I was seven and you were five.
Running around in the fields,
the freshly cut lawn.
Climbing through the trees,
beyond the land.
Do you ever think about me?
Or the times we’ve spent together?
What about those nights you drove down to see me?
For hours on end we spent on the phone.
You said you loved me,
more than anything in the world.
You said you’d do anything for me.
Would you give me the chance
to sit down with me,
and talk to me just one more night.
And after that,
if you still want me gone,
I’ll disappear from your life.
Like the dead trees,
beyond the land.
