I look out at the lake,
And remember you there.
Sitting in your boat,
Just starting out.
At your favorite place in the world,
The place that you love.
I remember you sitting there,
Out on the lake,
With your fishing line cast,
And a worm for your bait.
I can remember you there,
Sitting by the fire,
Telling us stories,
While we stand,
Roasting marshmallows.
You play your guitar,
And we sing a song,
Before we part for the night.
Now when I look,
Look upon the lake,
I no longer see you there,
Sitting in your glorious boat,
It breaks my heart,
To know you aren't there,
But i know that you are still out there,
You are still at the lake,
keeping the peace and calm.
You are still here even though you are gone.
I still love you,
And I always will,
You were like my grandfather,
And you will never be gone.
You are still in my heart,
Even though you are gone.

This poem is about a man who died a year ago. He was like a second grandfather to me.
