The Bounce

By
I flip forward,

jump as high as a mountain lion.
I’m a kangaroo.
I try to do a back flip.
Fall face down.
On the black netted fabric.
I feel the scrape on my face.
Try again, I think.
I perform the splits in the air.
Bounce up.
Try to pull off a back flip,
and I land perfectly on my feet.
I feel so fulfilled.
Yes! I yell,
and happily do it all again.
