Where have all the children gone?

Just yesterday,
Their smiles illuminated the playground,

Just yesterday,
Their laughs displayed fooling around.

Just yesterday,
They were here,
But now,
They are gone.

Where have all the children gone?

No longer do they laugh on the swing,
It rusts.

No longer do they prance through the fields,
It weeds.

No longer do they sing silly songs to the flowers,
They wilt.

Where have all the children gone?

I found them,
With bruises,

I found them,
With tears,

I found them,
Scared.

What happened to all the children?

I love this, it's sad, but this really is a very good picture of what it's like to grow up. Think that you could check out my work sometime?

Hauntingly beautiful, but so sad. I really liked it.
