Lost in the rivulet of life,
Reality an uncanny illusion, clouding everyone’s perception.
Feelings masked under flawless blue eyes and an ersatz smile,
Perceived as what others view or believe.
Nothing more.
Nothing less.

Life is what one wants to see,
But evil prowls within the gut.
Which is a product of the desire for truth,
The wish to be as one feels.
To be the person who lurks behind a closed door,
Speaking the dreams that keep me awake at night,
Tossing and turning,
Dreaming of reality, I wish to be.

I walk down the street holding his hand,
Wishing it could be yours.
Kissing his lips, imagining yours.
Living a lie, just so you can live yours.
I never speak, the sins that linger within my hopeless heart,
But as time ticks on,
The cravings slowly begin to devour my soul.
Gradually chipping away at my outer facade.
Causing me to lose hope for the utopia, I created long ago in my dreams.

This is my favorite! I can really relate to the last stanza. Keep on writting.
