Being a Teenager in 2011
6:00 AM-wake.
Day after day, after day
Ensnared
The web of routine, bonds forged, memories yet to be.
Same environment,
Day after day, after day
A rabbit trapped in its den
Waiting, helpless- prey.
Self pity, shame, they have no place.
Life- races past,
No joy in the moment,
Only worry of those to come.
Future uncertain-looking back, forward,
Not in the now.
Friends, family, teachers, classes
Day after day, after day
Time passes.
When sixteen-dreaming.
When young-in a flash,
Gone-forever.
