The neon lights flickering
The bright billboards shining
The cameras flashing
All a daily sight in NYC

Every night
I walk outside of my apartment
And stand
On the balcony
The enormous lights
Glowing on my pale face

My little sister’s eyes
Brighten every time she comes to visit
And we stand
And we stare
And we take in the
Sights that are New York City.

The clicking of heels are heard
And fashionable women can be seen
Bundled in their coats and scarves
Hurrying off into multiple restaurants
To meet their dates.

The honking of taxi cab horns are heard
And middle aged men can be seen
Yelling at pedestrians
And honking their car horns
Hurrying down the streets
To take people where they need to go.

And I still stand on the balcony
Watching
Listening
Taking in
What is the rush of New York City.
