When I was little
my parents would tell me
“remember everything has its punishments”
and when they would say that
I didn't think they actually meant
everything
but they did.
And by now
I know that everything has its punishments
everything
Did you go across the street?
Forgot to rinse your dish?
Then get ready to have to ask to eat
did you spend more then a minute doing your hair?
Then get ready to lose your hair products
get two C's?
Then get ready to lose your Zune, TV ,stereo, hair products
and the “Privilege” to watch TV after 5.
Everything
has a punishment and when you're trying as hard as you can,
to not do anything
even barely to breathe,
then report cards come out
or you have a fight with your sister
or you and your parents have a fight.
Everything has punishments
even trying your hardest
because it's just not good enough
even being your nicest
because it's not nice enough
or being your quietest
because you're still not quiet enough
and even trying to talk and socialize at home
because you always disagree on everything.
When I was little
