A poet's work is to name the unnameable, to point at frauds, to take sides, start arguments, shape the world, and stop it going to sleep.
-Salman Rushdie

The tinkling welcome bell rings
You step into a dark world filled with endless imaginations
Your hand automatically reaches out to softly touch the bindings
Each title holding a different enchanting adventure
You walk deeper into the musty realm
Each shelf is like a skyscraper,
Going higher and higher until it disappears into the clouds
Tracing layers and layers of words our eyes lead us to floor
The dusty carpets hold memories of the bibliophiles before us
Taking a seat, we settle into the far corner and arbitrarily choose an awaiting tale
As we recite the grasping words, our mind wanders beyond any earthly location
Deeper and deeper we fall
Tumbling into the maze of thoughts
Every idea, reflection, hope and dream flows through the inked letters
We are here, yet nowhere close
The human mind will never be understood
Yet the exploration of it's vastness will forever influence our imagination

The comfort and warm welcome of any book store inspired me to do this piece.
