Everything was blown-up,
balloon-like;
puffed up and wide as
I continued to hike
upon the concrete
in Doctor Dexter’s world.
My small feet paced
the ground below me as my
vision kept expanding,
letting the light in more and more
and the road beside me was
a silver shore
kissing the horizon I walked
adjacently to.
And there was no reason to
complain because
everything around me was so
intriguing and strange.
My eyes could barely
take in everything I saw
and the numbness I felt
was cutting me raw,
but nothing hurt at all.
Thank god for this superficial,
euphoric world
where everything is soft, and warmed,
and curled,
because sometimes reality can
truly take a toll
on my sensitive mind,
so what a beautiful find
this break has been
to waltz away, to slip away
to the shining, swollen, colored world
that Doctor Dexter
lives in.
