I wait
I wait to hear the sound of joy
I wait to see my troubles fade
I wait to feel the touch of happiness on my skin
I wait for my worries to pass with the wind
I wait to hear love knock at my door
I wait to experience the true excitement life brings
But when all is not well
And it seems everything is lost
Positive thoughts are often hard to come by
The times when all your sorrows come together as one
To form a bond your mind can’t escape
Moments like these make you want to yell
To let out all your pain, suffering, and emotions
So that your heart feels some relief
But other times you simply lay back, close your eyes
And imagine yourself in a world of bliss
A place free of grief, anguish, and misery
Somewhere far away from the place you call home
Where the darkness of the night remains the lights of a new day
