"A poem is never finished, only abandoned."
~Paul Valery

The sun hides behind the horizon
Playing the never ending game
Of hide-and-seek
With the moon and stars

The brightest reds and oranges
Are replaced by the darkest blues
The heat of the day follows the sun
And coolness paves the path for the moon

I sit with my love
Watching the game play out
In the comfort of each other's arms
We wish upon the first star

We wish for love and peace
For hate to be lost
We wish for an end of war
And the knowledge of another day

As more stars find their way
And the moon dies down
It's once again the sun's turn to seek
And a new day begins

A new day full of hopes and dreams
Where hate is found
And wars are ever present
But with the knowledge of another night
