with a breath of air
It flickers.
It wavers.
It grows high-so high.
Like flying amongst the stars.
And you shine-so bright.
With shades of red, and blue, and gold- so gold!
For a moment.
A glorious moment.
It seems fine.
And then it flickers.
It wavers.
It dies.
You wonder.
If you could be,
Bright.
Bold.
Beautiful.
No.
You can’t.
The candle.
It’s bright.
Bold.
Beautiful.
But it flickers.
And wavers.
Just like you.
You shined.
You lived.
And now.
You flicker.
You waver.
Your light.
It’s almost gone.
Almost.
With a flicker,
a waver,
with a breath of air.
Your light,
is extinguished.
