My heart has broken
But still does it beat
With a few tiny
difficulties

You did not leave me
Just left me alone
Walked out of my life
To find a new home

Say the words
I want to hear
You can't, you won't
You don't truly care

So instead of hearing
Your sweet tender voice
I'll listen to crickets
They fill the void

So I lay in bed
As they say good night
Remembering blue days
And wasted time

The author's comments:
I was going through a rough time in my life. I was dumped, life was meaningless, and everything good seemed to be going away. But the sound of the crickets made me feel like there will always be someone or something there.
