It always seem like to me
poems have hidden meanings
that I can never understand

Hidden words and feelings
behind towering letters in black
that mask the true meaning

But sometimes these meanings
find a way to escape
their blockade of hidden identity

And then they run from
across the milky white page
to whimsically play for me

And that is when I understand
what the author’s true meaning
was meant to be
