Unfocused Mind
I am from the winter.
I wear shorts year round.
You say it’s below zero?
Like I give a…
darn.
I am from a dictatorship.
There is no disagreeing with my parents.
What they say, they mean.
Change of mind?
Highly unlikely.
I am the pointless opinion.
My words apparently spoken with no significance.
I am from the night.
The dark is when I roam.
Daytime is the worst time of day.
Unless I’m sleeping.
I am from the lack of belief.
The irreligious atheist.
The pseudo god of creation.
The question which is frowned upon when asked.
I am from the past.
I attempt to emulate what was.
I am the rocker.
I am the needle.
Meant to be put in the groove,
Not the arm.
I am from the concert.
The deafening noise,
120 decibels,
Straight to my ears.
The lights flashing,
fireworks exploding,
picks and sticks flying.
